REVIEW **~** Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines

Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?

Woods & Della

Well, this book was just about everything I needed and more! I wouldn’t say it was dealing with any dark subjects, but I will say it had it’s share of scary pasts, bitterness, and apprehension! This is the second book in Abbi’s “Perfection” series, which is a spin-off of her “Too Far” series and it’s just as good as it’s predecessors.

I was utterly in love with Woods from the very beginning of this journey and I’m even more in love with him now. He stole my heart and I don’t want it back! He did get on my nerves a bit with his over protectiveness of Della, but I can totally relate to the need to keep and protect what is yours! Now Della on the other hand, I love her, but at times I wanted to smack the ever lovin’ shit out of her! Her heart is in the right place, but she (for me) just needed a little tweaking. Maybe some Krav Maga classes or a shot of courage! Seriously, how can you just sit there while someone beats the crap out of you and not even try to throw a punch! I bet the “new” Della would fight back and thank God for that! I was glad to see her taking over some club responsibility, but Woods was getting on my last damn nerve trying to micro manage her life! Great supporting characters in Angelina, Woods Mother, and all the past cast from previous books; Rush, Blaire, Bethy, Jace, Tripp, and that cutie Jimmy!

This tale was effortless to read and flowed very well. I found myself wanting or needing a little more and low and behold, at 34% I was thrown for a loop and at 86% my heart dropped completely out of my body. Holy freaking hell Abbi, you’re killing me here! I never anticipated what happened and I’m totally and completely frozen at the moment! Great writing sista, you always know how to take your readers on an emotional roller coaster.

Of course Abbi always alternates with her point of view which is absolutely breathtaking. I love seeing how the other half lives from their perspective. This book is 256 (Kindle Version) pages long and I’m here to tell you… it’s just what the doctor ordered! Simple Perfection to be exact! So many highs and lows, but like I said before, you think it’s slowing down, when it’s in fact picking up. It’ll take you by surprise and squeeze your heart while bringing you to your knees.

I so can’t wait to read the next installment. I’m not sure who it’ll be on, but either way, I just know I’ll love it!

5 stars!
