New York Times bestselling author Katie Ashley revs up the danger and sexual tension in her brand-new Vicious Cycle romance series.
Deacon Malloy’s life is dedicated to the Hell’s Raiders motorcycle club. Tough, hard, and fast with his fists, he serves the group as sergeant at arms. But his devil-may-care approach to life is thrown for a loop when the five-year-old daughter he never knew existed lands on the club steps.
Alexandra Evans is devoted to all her students—but there’s always been something about Willow Malloy that tugs at her heart. There’s an aura of sadness about her, a girl in need of all the love Alexandra can give. When Willow stops coming to school, Alexandra’s search leads to a clubhouse full of bikers…and a father hell-bent on keeping his daughter always within sight.
The moment Deacon sees Alexandra, he has to have her in his bed—and he’s never met a woman yet who couldn’t be persuaded. No matter how attracted she is to Deacon, Alexandra refuses to be just another conquest. But it’s Deacon himself who could be seduced—into a brighter future for himself, his daughter, and the woman he’s falling for against all odds.
Lemme start out by saying that I’ve read my fair share of MC books… some good, some great, and some… eh.. not so good! I’m always leery of new MC books/series as I’m not sure how they’re compare or match up to what I’ve liked. Enter Vicious Cycle. I was asked by Katie and Berkley Publishing to read it and give it an honest review…. I could have declined, but I totally would have missed out on one of the best new MC series to grace my kindle in a long time!
This book has so much more to it than some roughnecks and club whores! It has heart, it has humor, and most of all… it has Deacon Malloy! Well, and his sexy as sin brothers and friends!
Deacon is the Sergeant At Arms for the Hell’s Raiders Motorcycle Club. He’s lean, he’s mean, and he’s got some serious shit coming down the pike! A lifetime vendetta has brought Deacon the surprise of his life… I’d say it’s a cute surprise, but I’m sure if you asked Deacon he’d say it was more scarier than facing down the barrel of a gun. LOL! When Willow, a little 5 year old is basically dumped on his doorstep, what will he do? Get his “Mama Beth” of course *rolls eyes! Just wait till the Teacher pays him a visit, I think his brain just might explode!
Alexandra “Alex” Evans is Northern Georgia’s best elementary teacher. Alex has taken on the teaching responsibility of Deacon’s newly acquired tax deduction. When Willow doesn’t show up for school four days in a row, “Miss Alex” takes it upon herself to make a house call… to a MC! Holy hell! When she’s mistaken by Deacon for an undercover cop or informant the shit really hits the fan… translation: the sparks start to fly! Alex is truly a remarkably strong person! Perfect match up for Deacon!
Great supporting character cast. That little shit Willow… I could barely keep myself from bawling my eyes out at the horrifying ordeal that child went through at such a young age. She seemed to open up for Miss Alex which just melted my heart! Deacon’s brothers, Rev and Bishop are so damn funny… in a controlling hot MC guy kinda way! I loved that there was more to this story than just your basic running guns, strip joints, club whores, and fighting! This story even has a “Mother Hubbard” type of character in Mama Beth. Someone who’s silent until they need to be and then gives amazing advise!
This wonderful new book by Katie Ashley is a frontrunner in world! The storyline is so compelling that I found myself skipping sleepy time to finish it *yawn! The characters are very powerful and I could totally relate to them on many levels. Vicious Cycle deals with some very sinister subjects, it’s not for the faint of heart. The writing style was superb and it was effortless to read. The pacing flowed with efficiency and the highs and lows leading up to the climax were incredibly gripping.
an ARC was provided by the author and Berkley Publishing for an honest review
