Storm’s younger cousin.
Vandal’s little brother.
You’ve met him in the background.
The sweet one.
The nice one.
The one they can all rely on.
The good one.
He’s a tattoo artist. He plays metal and classical music – on the violin.
He’s got a body built for sin.
In comes Ivy. She’s a 36 year old single mom who hasn’t dated in 18 years.
All she wanted was a tattoo.
She got a helluva lot more 🙂
Being good has never been so bad.
I just finished reading this book and probably should wait a while before reviewing it however I can’t. This book tore me apart into the tiniest little pieces and then put me back together and not necessarily in the right order. Carian Cole constantly one ups herself every time she put a book out in this series. After I’ve finished one of her Ashes and Embers books I seriously can’t see how any new one can be better and then I get her next installment and freak way the fuck out at how excellently it’s written and played out. I wonder if she will ever know how much her words touch me.
Lukas is perfect in every way! He’s all alpha, with tons of tattoos, long hair, and the brooding attitude to back it all up. Although he may look tough and distorted on the outside, he has a heart of gold and would sell his own soul to the devil for the people that he loves. Lukas is trying to sway a woman more than a decade his senior and it seems as though he might be having some trouble. He’s a good listener and picks up what Ivys laying down… If u catch my drift!! Lawd, dis muthafucka’s fine!!!
Now Ivy… Well… I can totally relate… I was 30 when I met my twenty something hubs. I totally cannot fault her for treading lightly regarding Lukas. Poor Ivy is coming off of a bitter divorce after 18 years of what she thought marital bliss. Now a single mother of two is learning to live again. A coupon for a tattoo falls into her hand… soo… Who better to teach her then our beautifully fucked up Dark Angel, Lukas. Cheers to strong women!
“I can kiss you everywhere and slowly make you fucking crazy until you beg for me, or I can just bury my cock in you right now and ravish the rest of you after you’re done cumming all over me.”
I wrap my arms around him and slide my hand down his back. “do the bury thing,” I say breathlessly.
~Lukas and Ivy rant
The supporting character cast in this story is fairly large. Of course you can’t have an Ashes and Embers sequel without all the boys! This story somewhat backtracks to the first story but continues off on its own. So good to see Storm whoooing Evie and we get to relive some horrific events that happened in book 2, thank you Carian, not! The other half of the supporting cast would be Ivy’s children who are Maci and Tommy. We see a little bit of Tommy here and there, but Macy plays a bigger role, a roll that nearly killed me. And then we have the ex husband Paul… This guy is a piece of shit! A serious douche bag… Um, really folks… how much douche could a douchbag douche if a douchebag could bag douche! That’s Paul!
Now, my favorite supporting… well… pet? Ray the Raven… how cool is that… He mimicks everything Lukas, Ivy, and the kids say… Like “Up against the wall” or “I’m taking you upstairs.” Carian puts the best animals in all her books… for Storm it was Niko the huge “wolf” like dog… then in Vandal it was Sterling the blind cat… loved that kitty! And now we have the foul mouthed raven Ray!
Lukas was fast paced and so persuasive that I could NOT put it down. The dialogue flows and the writing style was outstanding! It’s dark, but not too dark. It’s funny in all the right places and it’ll pull on your heartstrings until you have no choice but to fall right along with these magnificent characters. It’s 209 (Kindle version) pages long and that climax made me want to run out and buy the next book… damn it… it’s not out yet!!!

I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
My first novel in the Ashes & Embers series, Storm, was published in September of 2014 and book 2, Vandal, was published in February 2015 with several more of this series planned throughout 2015.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
