✪MY REVIEW✪

Watch Over Me by Sydney Landon
Dominic & Gwen
THE BEST ONE YET!

Just when you think the Danvers series can’t get any better, Sydney puts out a new brilliant book. This one seemed even more edgy and racy than any of it’s predecessors. Normally I would categorize the Danvers into the Contemporary Romance genre, sometimes even Suspense, but holy hell, this one could easily be looped in the Erotic genre also! Oh. So. Damn. Hot.

Dominic has been on my radar for quite some time. I don’t know exactly when I started drooling over him, but who cares, he’s here now and I’m all worked up! He’s always been a major alpha presence in the books, but this time it’s his turn to shine and shine he does. He’s been hot for Gwen since the last book, and all but gave up on his fixation with her until she shows up at his apartment one night a little tipsy and ready to break the seal between them. Whoa, what a night! I think I’m joining the Senior Swingers just so I can gawk at Dom shirtless and all wet!!!

Gwen and her J.Lo butt are my fave! Oh yeah, Dom calls it the Holy Grail! She’s a no nonsense kind of girl and her track record with men is not so good. She’s a Senior Accountant at Danver International… she doesn’t work a pole for a living, although, with that ass, she probably could! She’s been broken up with over a text message before and most men get married to someone else after dating her. She’s convinced she’s a course that men need to take before marriage. LOL. Gwen has also been eyeing up Dom for a while now, but until she had a bit of liquid courage, she would just peak at him through her blinds! After their one night of pure, hot, steamy sex she’s in for the ride of her life. Hold on Gwen, it may be a rough journey babe!

The supporting character cast in this book is huge. Gwen’s BFF’s, Mia and Crystal are amazeballs! These two always had her back and mostly gave good advise! I especially loved the cameos from all the rest of the girls from earlier books. Suzy, Ava, Ella, Beth, and Claire are too damn funny at the lunch date… I love the girl talk between them. Sometimes I think they’re more crude than some men. Now Gage is the “Mouth-of-the-South” and I simply love this guy! He’s funny yet sincere and he’s also hot as hell! Gwen’s sister Wendy is too funny… she won’t swear so she comes up with some doozys… Shoot-head was my fave! Shannon, Dom and Gwen’s neighbor has her hands full with her two monsters Megan & Maddy. Those two little whips are so damn funny with their penis and vagina banter!

So, to sum this up, Watch Over Me was fanfuckingtastic. It had so much grit and menacing dialogue that I could not put it down. Read it in one day! I firmly believe that this is the best Danvers Novel yet! It’s gripping and compelling from cover to cover and will keep you enthralled till you read the words “the end.” It’s not a dark read, but yet a steamy emotional read! Get your beer, chocolate, and tissues ready… you’re gonna need it!!

begging for it cover

Some secrets should only be shared in the dark.

Jonah and Vivienne’s erotic bond—living out raw scenarios of captivity and force—began as no-strings sex between strangers who shared the same desires. Now the intimacy between them is turning into love, but it’s a love built on fantasies so extreme that exploring them makes guilt inescapable. But the risks they’re taking are far more dangerous than they’d imagined.

A stalker is terrorizing the city, and one of Jonah’s ex-lovers names him as a potential suspect to the police. Standing by a man under suspicion could cost Vivienne everything. But when Jonah’s stepfather takes advantage of the scandal to seize control of the Marks family fortune, Vivienne is drawn into her lover’s broken family and twisted past. Only then will she learn how dark the truth really is…

Begging for It by Lilah Pace
Jonah & Vivienne continued…
GOT STRANGER, BUT GOT MORE SATISFYING

Ok so this one is better (in my opinion) than the first installment. It’s grittier and seems to have more substance in it. I actually liked this one. Not that I hated the first one, I just could not connect with the characters enough to feel that it had an impact on me.

Jonah is so much more alpha in this one. In Asking For It, he seemed more whiney and grumpy… now he’s stepping up to the plate and exerting his alphaness! He’s in the middle of a shit storm with his Step Father and the media regarding his stock in his Father’s company and his reputation and whether or not he’s the Campus rapist everyone is talking about. I guess I can’t fault him for being a tad bit grumpy, but holy hell… snap outta it man… Vivienne needs you!

Vivienne also blossomed in this one. She became more brave, more demanding, and more truthful. She’s putting more of herself and her past out there for Jonah to see and… well… for the world to see. Part of me still feels she’s kind of dense, but I guess she’ll pass for now. She did grow this gigantic back bone near the end of the story that simply amazed me! Whaaa Hoooo!!!

The supporting character cast is what it is… I like some, I hated some… let’s just say Vivienne’s side of friends a family were just ok… the friends were pretty cool, but that stupid ass sister, Chloe was as dumb as a box of rocks and the mother must eat a bowl of stupid for breakfast everyday! Jonah’s side of the family, whoa! Carter, the Step Father = EVIL! The man tramatizes his children/step children and still tries to keep it up in adulthood. Now Maddox the brother… holy hotness and wow is that man smart and rich!!

So, all in all I enjoyed this installment more than I did it’s predecessor. It seemed to have more heart, more connection to the characters, and more grit! The pacing was pretty good… mostly even keel! The writing style was effortless to read and the subject matter was just the right amount of darkness!
