BK1 Betrayal E-Book Cover

One week. No future. No past. No more.

Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree—no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as “Charli,” she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined. With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day.

“Some of my tastes are unique. They aren’t for everyone. I understand that.”

Lennox “Nox” Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive—he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one:

One week. No more.

When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken.

“Is it really cheating if you’re doing it to yourself?”

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a sexy, new dominant hero who knows what he wants, and a strong-willed heroine who has plans of her own. With classic Aleatha Romig twists, turns, deceptions, and devotions, this new epic dark romance will have readers swooning one minute and screaming the next. Have you been Aleatha’d?

BETRAYAL is a full-length novel and the first of five in the INFIDELITY series.

Betrayal by Aleatha Romig
Alex (Charli) & Nox the beginning

Ok people, hold on to your panties… this is my first Aleatha Romig book! I know, I can’t believe it myself… I do have her Consequences series on my kindle only because some pushy hooker named Angie made me buy it and not to mention Aleatha’s right hand man (her hubby) couldn’t say enough about it when I met them in Indy last year!

This book is insanely twisted! It’s one of those books that you really need to pay attention to as there are so many facets to it. I was intrigued almost immediately from the first chapter. From there my kindle and this story just became an extension of me until I just about fell apart at the end. Yes, people this is a 5 book series and this one doesn’t end with a HEA so to speak… it’s kind of a happy cliffy… sort of… well, that’s how I looked at it.

Alexandria Charles Montague Collins, a.k.a. Alex or Charli whatever you want to call her is an extremely strong female lead character. She’s been to the horror show, she’s put her time in, and now it’s her time and you better believe she’s gonna take it! Her dismay starts long before this story does back at Montague Manor and even though we don’t know the extent of it, I’m sure all will be revealed in due time. I was a little apprehensive when her and Chelsea has this one week to be and do whatever they wanted. These things just have a habit of showing back up like a bad penny at the most inopportune times. Ha, dig your heels in peeps, this ones gonna sting a bit.

Nox swoops in like a knight in shining Armour, but read people and you’ll see he’s not that shiny. From what I know about this guy, he’s serious, he’s sometimes stern, and he’s rating about 10.5 on the hottie scale. He remains somewhat mysterious for the better part of the story. You can tell he wants to reveal more and learn more, but he doesn’t and that just about kills me. I feel like there’s things he’s hiding, things he will fight to keep buried and hidden for a long time. I’m not sure what has been going on with him as the first book mostly focuses on Alex, but I’m sure we’ll learn more about this beautiful man soon enough.

The supporting character cast is fairly large. Let’s see, there’s Chelsea (Alex’s bff). Chelsea is a friend that you love with every fiber of your being, but question each decision she’s ever made. She’s the total package and I loved her from the beginning! Now Adelaide Montague Collins Fitzgerald (the mutha) is as dumb as a box of rocks… or is she? She’s cunning and shrewd in her quest to get Alex to move back home. I think she knows in her heart she’s slowly killing her daughter but goes along with plans set forth by Alton (the stepfather). This guy is a piece of shit and needs to be taken down a notch. I somehow feel that Alex’s animosity towards him goes way deeper than we know. Now the Montague staff (with the exception of Jane) can all kiss my ass and rot in hell. I can’t stand puppets and that ‘s what they all are, even the mother. Reading all their parts gave me the “white knuckle syndrome” and I almost killed my kindle. lol.

You’ll find this isn’t exactly a dark read, but teeters on it. I think it’s going to get darker before it gets lighter if that even makes sense! I found it extremely straightforward for now. The dialogue flowed with ease and felt very natural. The characters are relatable and powerful and I actually felt concern for them… well Alex at least. This book boasts the right amount of apprehension to keep me intrigued for the long haul. There isn’t really a climax to speak of as of yet, but my attention has been grabbed and I’m patiently waiting for the next installment. Great book Aleatha. Loved it!

I motioned around the patio. “Is this what you do? You save women from the resort leaches and lure them to your lair?”
“My lair? Am I Batman?”
“Are you? I don’t know.”
He smirked. “If only I could make a living at doing just that, but alas, no. You’re my first rescue.”
I stopped my reach for a piece of cheese and looked back up at him. “You’re first?”
“My first rescue,” he clarified. “Hardly my first.”
He lifted his glass toward me in a toast. After I lifted mine, he said, “To you, Charli with an I, and to learning more about you.”
After our glasses clinked and we both took a sip, I asked the question that I’d been dying to know ever since our morning encounter. “You seem to have a clear advantage. You know my name, but I’ve yet to learn yours.”
“Do I?”
“Do you what?”
“Do I have an advantage?” He leaned closer. “Do I know your name? You see, I had the resort’s reservations scoured. I wanted to send a gift to your room and confirm our dinner, yet Charli was nowhere to be found.”
I took a deep breath. “Well, I’m here with my sister. I guess my name isn’t on the reservation.”
“You’re sister?”
“Yes, and you—if I were to have the reservations scoured?”
The sun had now fully set, falling below the water and the darkening sky was beginning to fill with stars, especially over the water.
“Would you believe, Batman?” When I didn’t respond, he said, “Bruce Wayne?”
Though I pursed my lips, I felt the twinkle in my eyes.
