“You can’t get any more beautiful than you are, Makenna,” Titan called from the other side of the door.
She smiled. That man always seemed to say the right thing. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed the biggest towel she could find, wrapped it around herself and went to meet Titan.
When he saw her coming, he hid a smile. If she thought that terry-cloth towel was going to deter him, she was barking up the wrong tree.
“I was beginning to think you’d gotten lost,” he muttered, eyeing her appreciatively.
“That would be hard in a two room house, Cowboy.” She held on to the ends of the towels like they were a life preserver and she was being tossed in a stormy sea. “I was just having second thoughts about this swimsuit.”
“I’ve been having second thoughts about it too…and thirds…and fourths.” He pushed his hat back on his head and crossed his big arms over that chest she thought should be a national monument.
“I know you’ve seen me in it before, but I’d had several margaritas at the time. I was basking in a false sense of fashion security.” Even as she grumbled, she was moving closer to him. “Just don’t look at me too close. This belongs to Allie and it’s about two sizes too small.”
“Well, if it’s bothering you, when we get to the spring, you can take it off.”
Titan’s matter-of-fact solution made Makenna laugh. “I can’t win with you, can I?”
Putting an arm around her waist, he guided her toward the door. “Au contraire, my dear. You’ll win with me every damn time.”
For some reason, she was beginning to believe him.
A ten minute walk took them from the front porch of the cabin to the very edge of one of the foothills. “These limestone hills are riddled with caves and springs,” Titan remarked as they came upon the first outcroppings of rocks.
“Yea, I’ve seen some of them,” Makenna answered. “There’s a small one near the house where a stream of water flows from a crack in the rocks about nine months out of twelve. I call it the ‘squirrel shower’. I’ve always envisioned walking up one day and seeing a squirrel standing on his back legs, washing under his arms with a little loofah.”
Titan threw back his head and laughed. “I love being with you.” He held her hand as they traversed some rough ground. “Careful. Not too much farther.”
Makenna didn’t know what she’d been expecting, but this wasn’t it. This was no pond in the pasture. Titan led her into the mouth of a small cave. Her eyes widened as she saw the opening was much smaller than the cavern they entered. “It’s breathtaking,” she whispered.
“This is my own private paradise.” He beamed. “Only a handful of people know about this place. My uncle kept the location of this spring pretty much to himself and I’ve followed suit.”
Her eyes mapped the magical place. Enough light shone through the opening so she could see a deep pool of crystal clear water. Bubbles decorated the top as water flowed into the cave from an underground aquifer. “I love it,” she breathed reverently. “It makes me think of those tropical grottos I’ve seen in movies.”
“This pool feeds the Blanco River through an underground stream. Cave divers have tried to follow the path, but it’s too narrow.”
Makenna was listening, but mostly she was watching. As he’d promised, Titan hadn’t brought clothes to change into. Instead, he began to strip. “Is the water warm?” she asked, trying not to stare. She found a large flat rock to sit on. No way was she getting in the water first.
“It’s not a hot spring by any means, but the water is comfortable.” His signature white cowboy shirt went first, revealing a chest which rose powerfully from lean hips. She let her gaze slide over massive shoulders, then down over the bulge of his biceps. If she didn’t know how gentle he could be, Titan’s size would’ve made her nervous. Damien had always used his strength against her, but Titan would use his to defend her.
The boots, socks and jeans went next until he was down to a pair of gray boxer briefs. The light in the cave was dimmer, but she could clearly see the outline of his cock. He was aroused. When he hooked his thumbs in the waistband of his underwear and began to push down, Makenna’s breath hitched in her throat. Her gaze darted up to his eyes and she saw he was watching her closely. “Do you want me to leave them on? I can.”
“No, it’s okay.” She was acting silly. Just this morning she’d held him in her hand. In her mouth. “I want to…” Enunciating what she wanted to do was impossible. “Sorry, the cat’s got my tongue, I guess.”
“Lucky cat.” The material bulged as his hands worked beneath the soft cotton, revealing the solid length of his manhood little by little. Each time she thought there would be an end to it, an additional inch was revealed until the broad head lay throbbing against his thigh.
Makenna couldn’t help but stare, realizing he was too heavy to stand upright. She gulped, her insides clenching. Allie had wondered if the size of his cock matched the rest of him. Now she could tell her for sure it did. The sight of him caused her body to respond. She felt her nipples tighten and her pussy soften.
“Ready?” He held out his hand and she took it, rising.
“I think so.” Makenna knew he was speaking of more than just a dip in the spring. He stepped in first, never letting go of her.

Changing Lives

What if love-at-first-sight was not the “first-sight” after all?

Thomas is a perfect gentleman, but his love for her seems to be old, solid, staid– the kind that grows after years of love and life together. He speaks in riddles when she asks why he seems to know her so well–they were together in a time she can’t remember yet.

Thomas longs to tell Natalie everything he knows about her, about them. But it’s time that is the problem yet. There is a tragedy that they must endure before she can fully accept who they are, and why they are destined to be together. A tragedy that Thomas has been through once, and will go through again to find the piece of his heart that has been missing all these many years.

That tragedy is the Titanic…

Excerpt

As I touch it, I feel nothing but cold everywhere—in my bones, in my blood, in the room. I close my eyes, trying to touch the iceberg as long as I can, as the instructions say. This is what it felt like that night the Titanic sank. With all of those people dying in the cold water. As I stand with my eyes shut, I start to feel very cold and wet. I open my eyes and realize that somehow I’m in a small boat on the ocean at night with a life vest on and hundreds of people floating around me. Some dead, others screaming. Where am I? And where’s Thomas?

I start to yell Thomas’ name. How did I get here?

“Thomas, Thomas, Thomas? Help, anyone help!” I cry.

At that point, Thomas grabs me and pulls me away from the iceberg and back into the exhibit. His heavy breathing matches mine. We are the only two in the room as he grabs me and holds me tight. After a few moments as our breathing slows, I ask, “What just happened?”

“Like I said, you are not like the other people who walk through here. You are special. You were there,” he whispers.

“How is that possible? None of this makes sense.” I’m still shaking, and the room is very cold. “Can we please leave this room? I can’t stop shaking.”

“Yes, of course.” As we walk out into the lobby and through the front doors into the sunlight, I run to the first bench under a tree I can find. I want to be far away from everyone, from everything, from Thomas. I do notice that Thomas has stayed away from me for a while to allow me to breathe and try to figure out what the hell was going on. Thomas is sitting not far away, just watching me. And I’m thankful for the distance.

I start to recap the events of the past two days to myself. How is all of this happening to me? And why now? Who is Thomas Andrews really, and what does he want from me?

After what feels like hours of just sitting on the bench, I look up at Thomas, who’s just staring at me. He stands and walks over to me. “May I?” he asks.

I nod and he sits.

“Look, Natalie, I know this is a lot to take in—” he begins as I interrupt him.

“A lot to take in!” I shout. “You have not explained anything to me. You come to me and tell me we know each other from a long time ago. Yet you have told me nothing. I know nothing about you. I have no idea why I passed out in that room. And I have no idea what the hell happened when I touched that iceberg. Would you please just tell me what is going on, please?”

EXCERPT

She felt his eyes scan her from head to toe more than once before he closed the distance between them and trapped her between the wall and his arms resting on either side of her shoulders. She couldn’t move if she wanted to; not with her heart pounding furiously to make her stay and kiss him until he stopped his shenanigans. “I’ve got all I want right here,” he whispered against her neck.
Gwen’s stomach flipped and her throat immediately dried. Those words sounded like honey on her tortured soul, but she couldn’t accept them. “You’re drunk,” she shot back, equally hushed. She moved to escape his clutch, but he pressed her against the wall with his body.
“Maybe a little, but maybe I’m just drunk enough to demand you stop teasing me,” he replied, moving her hair behind her shoulder and toying with the dress strap. He rolled it between his fingers and lowered his eyes to her dress. “You come to a party you’re not invited to wearing a dress that makes every male head turn.” He slipped her strap down and gently caressed her bare shoulder. Chills spread over her skin the more he touched her. “And then you want to leave right after I see you?” he finished, pushing the opposite dress strap off. “That’s not very fair,” he complained, leaning down and catching the tip of her ear between his teeth.
If it weren’t for the other partygoers, Gwen was certain Jeremy would take her in that very hallway. She saw the longing in his brown depths and knew hers mirrored the exact same. “You know we can’t,” she murmured against his lips.
Jeremy cradled her face in his hands and nuzzled her nose with his before tilting her head up. “Then why does it feel so right when we do?” he argued as he lightly nibbled on her lower lip. His reasoning made sense to her hazed thoughts. The way he coerced her lips with his only intensified her resolve to not let anything or anyone get between them.
Deciding one kiss wouldn’t hurt anything, Gwen met Jeremy’s lips with exuberance.
His reaction took her breath away when he eagerly slipped his tongue into her mouth to tangle with hers. He tasted like beer laced with vodka and a hint of peppermint, but to her, he still tasted like perfection. The beat of the rock song playing over the amplifier only deepened the pressure in Gwen’s body. Thankful for the crowd-reducing noise, Gwen pulled Jeremy closer yet, until he was skin to skin with her.

“Criminal law is my specialty,” he leaned in close, “so if you are ever in a bad position I’ll get you off.”

She didn’t give a damn if the freaking mailman slipped the mail right between her legs at the mail slot beneath her.

Years of waiting turned him into a man consumed with desire and suddenly, he didn’t care if the janitor walked in on them.

Chapter One

Jill
“Should we give him more time?” Dr. Franklin asks me and all I can do is shake my head, no. Nico Bianchi has let me down again. I don’t know why I keep giving him chance after chance because all he’s been is a no-show. Oh, he’s come to a couple of appointments but he seemed about as uninterested as a person could get. He tells me he loves me and that he wants this baby, but his actions prove otherwise. I know he’s still using whatever drugs he’s been taking and drinking all of the time. The multiple slutbags he’s been hanging out with doesn’t help either.
I guess it makes me glad that I had already stopped sleeping with him when his behavior turned more erratic. Who knows what type of STD’s he’s got. I was truly hoping that he’dchange for us, but instead he’s gotten worse.
Today I’m finding to find out the sex of the baby. At my twenty week ultrasound the baby kept his or her legs crossed and wouldn’t show us and since I’m measuring big they want to do another ultrasound today.
“Okay since we’re not waiting let’s get started.” I lie back on the table and pull up my shirt. Dr. Franklin tucks a paper drape into the top of my jeans. She squirts some of that warm jelly onto my belly and grabs the wand thingy. “Let’s hope this little one cooperates with us today.” As soon as my baby’s image appears on the screen I feel the tears build in my eyes. I still can’t believe I have a little human growing inside of me. The doctor tells me everything that she sees and my heart swells knowing that my baby is looking good. “Oh my. This little one is finally working with us. It appears you’re having a little girl.”
I begin to cry happy tears. I’m having a little girl. My life will soon be dresses, baby dolls and shoes. “That’s great.” I whisper. My voice sounds hoarse from the tears I’m shedding.
After my checkup she lets me know that when I enter my eighth month next month that I will start coming in every two weeks. She tells me to continue normal activity for now, but if I have any tightening in my belly or begin to spot that I need to start slowing down. I tell her goodbye and stop at the front desk to schedule my next visit.
When I step outside I make my way to my car and climb inside. I blast the heat and try to warm myself up. While I wait I pull out my phone and send Nico a text.
Where were you? You missed ANOTHER appointment.
I pull out of the parking lot and decide to stop by Nico’s condo. I’ll show him the pictures and tell him what we’re having and he’ll probably act like he doesn’t care as usual. When I reach his condo I see another car sitting in the driveway and my stomach starts to turn. I get out and make my way to the front door. I knock and ring the bell but he doesn’t answer. I have a key, but normally I don’t use it. Well, today that changes. I’m tired of him hurting me over and over. I feel like I’ve become pathetic because I always forgive him. I always give him another chance.
I stick my key into the lock, turn it and then push open the door. The place is a mess. There are bottles everywhere. Vodka, Tequila and beer bottles litter the coffee table, the end tables and every other available space. I walk through the living room and make my way down the hall to his room. My stomach turns violently as I notice women’s clothing scattered all over the floor and ending at Nico’s door.

Woven Interest

Uptight, serious, introvert…those were the words most used to describe James.
The middle brother in the Becker family, owners of a prestigious race horse farm in South Carolina, though austere was covertly a playboy.
Unable to resist a beautiful body, whether male or female, James never had a desire to commit to just one. A consummate player, he had no interest in a relationship.
Never say never. A broken ankle was the catalyst that led James to consider a relationship. Falling for a man already in a committed relationship with a woman was intricate enough. But the likelihood of their woven interests in each other becoming a real relationship was threatened by shallow judgment, the media and a troublemaking former barn hand.

EXCERPT

It was dark inside, as expected. James waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. The music was sultry, jazz fusion and almost soothing. This place calls for a gimlet martini James thought to himself. Noting the bar along the right wall hesauntered to a free stool and sat before placing his order. The couple had chosen a small table and were sitting with their heads close together talking. Wall sconces and small, red, shaded lamps on café tables casted a dim glow throughout the club. The music was being played live by a trio of older gentleman set precariously on a stage too small for them and their instruments. The sound of a cocktail glass placed on the marble topped bar got James attention. He turned to see the bartender place his martini in front of him.
“Want to start a tab?”
“Sure, why not?”
“I don’t really give a damn whether you do or not, sonny. What’ll it be?”
James let a smirk escape after a brief moment of feeling insulted. “Start a tab for me.”
The bartender nodded and walked away. James brought his drink to his lips. The smell of gin and lime filled his senses as he took the first sip.
“Not a very likeable character now, is he?”
James held his drink at his lips as he thought to gain recognition of the voice. Slowly he lowered his glass and set it on the bar top before raising his eyes to see Remy standing next to him.
“May I?” He motioned to the bar stool in front of him.
Swallowing hard, James could only manage a small nod of approval. Remy looked so fucking hot. Maybe it was because he hadn’t seen him in a week but James didn’t think so. The man was just simply gorgeous, no matter what. James watched as Remy maneuvered his body to sit on the stool. Grabbing a section of the material of his pants leg at his thigh, he hitched the pant leg up, giving himself more room in the crotch of his pants.
“What can I get ya’?” The gruff bartender had returned.
“Same,” Remy said pointing to James’ drink.
“Put it on my tab,” James told the bartender. And to Remy he said, “May as well since he went through the trouble of setting one up for me.”
Remy smiled. James dick twitched and cursed softly.
“What?”
James looked at Remy questioningly.
“You cursed.” Placing his elbow on the bar and his head in his hand, Remy leaned forward, closer to James. From this position, he stared into James eyes and waited for James to reply.
Those piercing blue fucking eyes, James thought as he let himself get lost in them. Sensing the danger of allowing himself to do so, he answered Remy.
“You smiled.”
“My smile caused you to curse?” And still he sat smiling at James.
“No, my dick twitching because you smiled at me caused me to curse.”
The wet tip of Remy’s tongue came out and slid across his bottom lip. Neither broke eye contact. James could feel his jaw tighten in frustration. The bartender placed Remy’s drink in front him and walked away. Still without breaking eye contact Remy picked up his drink and took a swallow.
