JUST TURN THE DIAL! LOVED IT!
Deck & Emme
One of the most excellent books I’ve read this year! Kristen Ashley’s Alpha-Males just keep getting better and better. Kaleidoscope is packed full of so much emotion, I almost can’t even begin to tell you how this influenced me! I’ve read just about everything this woman has published and wowza, this one is at the top of my list! From chapter to chapter, you may go from a full on sigh to a blood curdling scream. No shit! Don’t believe me, try this on for size… Romance, hot uber alpha-male sex, love, friendship, and the cherry on this fucked up sundae is the angst and turmoil you’ll go through from cover to cover!
Emme (Emmanuel) is just plain old perfect. In every damn way! She’s a beautiful, talented, brilliant, and fun loving woman who’s not afraid to get her hands dirty! I mean, holy hell… on any given evening you could find Emme either at the spa getting her hair and nails done, or I shit you not, putting up some drywall. She drives a damn Bronco named Persephone for Godsakes! I love this woman and her deep dark secrets!
Deck (Jacob) or as Emme describes him… “Super-smart, see-into-thoughts-with-the-power-of-his-mind Jacob Decker.” is all that and a bag of chips! He’s just flawless! This man melted my panties and then set them on fire! After all the alpha-males KA writes about, you’d think she’d fuck one up somewhere along the lines… nope, they just keep getting hotter and sexier! I really really really like him and his environmentally unconscious pool-heating waste! LOL!
Great supporting character cast. I love seeing all the Colorado Mountain men and Rock Chick hotties making some cameos! Of course Emme has the best Girl Posse evah!! If I were honest, I’d have to say that I loved one of our characters parents and started out hating the other. I won’t tell you who, but I will say this… If it were me taking that bullshit, I’d probably freak way the hell out on them… but not little Emme…no way… she’s takes and takes and takes and stores that shit up!
Kaleidoscope is without a doubt one of Kristen Ashley’s finest books! It will make you smile and laugh out loud and after you’ve flipped a page or two, you’ll be gasping and fighting the urge to through your kindle across the room. It’s 376 (Kindle version) pages long and from cover to cover it will keep you into, hooked, and involved within it’s clutches! The pacing is utterly perfect and flows exceptionally well and the dialogue is one of a kind! I love you Kristen Ashley and will forever be your fangirl!!
5 frakking stars!!!!

A NICE TRIP DOWN “GNAW BONE” MEMORY LANE!
Graham Reese (Ham, Reece, Bruiser!) & Zara Cinders (Cookie)
Explosive, impulsive and peppered with so much emotion your heart will never be the same! It may not be my preferred installment in this series, but hells bells, this shit is good! I wasn’t entirely stunned at the conclusion, but pleasantly surprised none-the-less. I found it to run parallel to some of it’s predecessors, however for me it just seemed a little flat. That being sad, it’s still a good book, first-rate story, and fine characters but Ham and Zara just didn’t pull me as far in as say… Tate and Lauren or by God my faves… Ty and Lexi, but they were still great!
Kristen Ashley’s stories all seem to have certain components in them; Love, hate, angst, humor, violence, and suspense. This one had all of those workings but it was just not as amplified as the other books in this series. It’s got everything you’d expect from her, but maybe it just leans more on the softer side. Go read it and you be the judge!
Graham Reece “Ham,” well, he was definitely fitting into KA’s mold of alpha males in just about every way. I was a little concerned when I found out he was a bartender. It kind of made me feel that he might not be good enough for one of KA’s leading ladies. Hmmmm, well, he proved me wrong. One huge guy and everything else huge to go with him (wink wink). Seriously, he was a “Rolling Stone,” however, you could tell he really wanted to be with Zara, but just couldn’t bring himself to that point! I have to admit, he’s not one of my favorites of all KA’s alpha males, but he’d do in a pinch! Now Zara on the other hand, I’d hang with that chick! She had more love in her heart than one person should be allowed to have. Especially after all the hardships and heartaches she’d gone through over the years. One would think she’d be insensitive and cynical, but she wasn’t, far from it. She approached life with open arms no matter how many times she got knocked down. Good supporting characters in all her friends and the cameos from past characters. The angst Zara’s parents caused was one for the record books, so, yeah, I guess even THEY were good characters. It’s always pleasant to see how things are going in the lives of characters you’ve visited in the past.
The writing itself flowed for the most part, but at times I felt myself feeling like I wanted to skip around (just a bit). It was 345 (Kindle Version) pages long and generally a KA book usually takes me 2 to 3 days to finish. I got through this one in 1 1/2 days. Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad. At my conclusion, I’ll say this, I enjoyed my trip back Gnaw Bone, The Rooster, and even The Dog. It’s a trip I’ll always take!
